Financial Accountant – 6 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Melbourne (Fully Onsite)
Hourly Rate: $40ph – $45ph

Start Date: End of May

Are you a hands-on finance professional with a knack for compliance and reporting? TEC have partnered with a well-established wholesale business in Melbourne who are currently seeking someone for a 6-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension.

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to take ownership of key finance functions, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and statutory compliance. This is a fully onsite role within a collaborative and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all statutory compliance requirements.
• Prepare accurate financial and management reports.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process payroll and manage lodgments for BAS, STP, superannuation, payroll tax, and Work Cover.
• Reconcile monthly stock take and investigate variances.
• Coordinate and manage the annual audit process.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycle.

   

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5-6 years’ experience in a financial accounting role, experience in wholesale, distribution, or similar industries (advantageous).
• CPA or CA qualification highly regarded.
• Proficiency in financial systems, with MYOB experience highly regarded.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical deadlines, particularly during EOFY.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels.
